Dealing with Social Security and Medicare boggle the mind! It can be complicated and incredibly time-consuming due to the many options available. The staff at Nocona General Hospital and Modern Woodmen of America see these frustrations regularly and feel compelled to provide as much education as possible to our community on these issues.
Therefore, we are proud to present “Social Security & Medicare Simplified”. Our guest speaker, Tom Clark, is a wealth of information concerning Social Security, Medicare, government pensions, TRS, and how they all fit together.
This is a completely unbiased, third-party educational event – absolutely no sales will be involved or even available!
Tom Clark retired from the Social Security Administration in June 2011 after 33 years of service as a claims representative, operations supervisor, field representative, and public affairs specialist. Currently he is a self-employed Social Security speaker and consultant. While with the SSA, Tom was twice presented with the Commissioner’s Citation, Social Security’s highest award. Four times, he received the Deputy Commissioner of Communications Citation for Excellence in making the complexities of Social Security and Medicare easily understandable.
In addition, he has produced and appeared in over 200 television productions concerning Social Security, and his columns on Social Security has a monthly readership of over two million.
He is considered the expert in explaining how receiving a pension based on work not covered by Social Security (such as Teacher’s Retirement of Texas) can affect Social Security benefits. Many of his fellow co-workers with the SSA have told him they never understood the Windfall Elimination Provision and Government Pension Offset law until he explained it!
