Our History

On March 23, 1967, the City Council of the City of Nocona approved an ordinance to establish a Hospital Authority. After much time, research, and consideration, the Authority decided in January 1971 that area residents could best be served by the creation of a Hospital District to include both he Nocona and Prairie Valley Texas school districts. With that, the Hospital District was created in August 1971. Construction of the hospital began in November 1972 and was completed in early 1974. Nocona General Hospital began operations on April 15, 1974 with the admission of the first patient.

Nocona Medical Clinic

Nocona Medical Clinic was added to the north side of the hospital in 1994, a new radiology wing was completed in 2003, and the Wellness Center was completed in 2006.

In January 2019, NGH assumed ownership of the Nocona Medical Clinic, which included clinics in Nocona, Bowie, and Saint Jo.
